Malla Lou James Story, age 72, of Houston, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born August 17, 1945, in Augusta, Arkansas, a daughter of Ed Carl James and Claster Lee Lawhorn James. She was the widow of William Dalton Story. Malla was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children, James Edward (Cindy) Story of Batesville and Dalton Dewayne (Jennifer) Story of Center Ridge; daughters, Lisa (Mark) Mayo of Bigelow, Annette (John) Cheveallier of Conway, and Tina Story of Houston; sister, Hester Smith of Perryville; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Pete James, Carl James, and Sonny James; and sister, Lucy Jones.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Volman Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
