Billy Joe Moore, age 91, of Perryville, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 in his home. He retired from the sheet metal workers union, Local 36, after 64 years of employment. He was a charter member and the oldest member of Perryville Second Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Agnes Thomas Moore of Perryville; one daughter, Shirley (Jerry) Manning of Maumelle; one son, Randy (Gay) Moore of Mabelvale; one grandson, Kevin Moore of Mabelvale; three grandsons, Masson, Ashtin, and Brooks Moore of Mabelvale; two step-daughters, Connie (Tony) Williams of South Haven, Mississippi, Loretta (Randy) Underwood of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one step-son, Thomas (Cathy) Barnes of Des Arc; two step-grandchildren, Steven Underwood of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Jessica (Howard) Brown of Bowling Green, Kentucky; five step-great-grandchildren, Callie, Anna, Mya, Trey, and Sadie of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two brothers, David Moore and Harold Moore of Houston, Arkansas; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Moore and Maggie Huffstutler Moore; his first wife of 37 years, Vernece Herron Moore; two sisters, Edith Moore Johnson and Julia Moore Holladay Maupin; five brothers, Alvie, Pete, Charlie, Kenneth (Dink), and Bobby Moore.
A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Perryville Second Baptist Church with Bro. Allen Nelson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
